Hi, I’m Nick Olish.

I've always loved writing and coming up with ideas. So I took a risk (along with some hefty loans) and enrolled in Miami Ad School - Minneapolis.

The ensuing adventure has taken me to the ends of this great nation, with stints in Boston and Los Angeles. I’m currently splitting time between LA and NYC. Thank goodness for credit card miles.

Now that my career is in full-swing, I live by the ethos that “a big idea will tell you how it wants to live.” Sure, I love writing funny or flowery scripts, hanging out with big-name directors and eating sushi in edit bays. Who doesn’t? But more than that, I love creative freedom to solve business problems with products, experiences, social experiments and so much more. Ideas first, executions second.

Bring me on and let’s go gloves off.

Tidbits

I am the youngest of four brothers.

I credit growing up this way as the source of my quick wit.

I play on a gay rugby team.

If you’re gonna be gay, you’ve gotta be tough. Please tell me you offer good health insurance.

Show me.

I’m originally from the show me state of Missouri, having grown up in the suburbs of St. Louis.

Show me more.

I love going to live shows. There’s a good chance I’ll have a second browser window up with a ticket queue.

Scoreboard.

I’m a diehard St. Louis Cardinals fan. I’m also big into St. Louis Blues hockey and fantasy football trash talk. So if your brand has sponsorships, I’ll have a field day.

He’s from the streets.

And by “he” I mean “my dog.” His name is Marcus LaBarcus and I adopted him off the streets of Ensenada, Mexico. Good thing I speak Spanish.

I stole the TV.

I absolutely love and endlessly quote the TV show “Strangers With Candy.” Other favorite watches include old school Simpsons, The Wire, Game of Thrones, and Seinfeld. Oh and true crime docs: the more screwed up the better.

I am the Aztec God of Death.

Or at least I was. I played Mictlantecuhtli, lord of the underworld, in an LA Opera production called “El Ultimo Sueño de Frida y Diego.” See for yourself.
